Review of Watami Restaurant, Singapore

I was recently on holiday in Singapore and found the Ion Orchard shopping center around lunchtime. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but Watamu in Singapore caught my oko.Djevojka outside gave me a leaflet with a set lunch menu on it and that was enough to my mind.

venturing in, I got the impression that the staff are very friendly. The place is very full, but I was served immediately. I decided to make sukiyaki teishoku. It looked very nice in the picture at just $ 12.80, Singapore, including salad, miso soup, rice and soft drink or a cup of tea, it seemed good.

Maybe I should have brushed my Japanese before ordering because the waiter brought the plate plus a lot of raw ingredients! Not much fazes me, so I got straight to work on the sukiyaki. I was not sure how to cook everything, and set a high flame, but luckily the waiter came to my aid when plumes of smoke began to disturb other diners! I was not sure what to do with a raw egg beaten either, but one of the waiters explained that for beef.

sukiyaki comes with a raw steak (sliced very rare), cabbage, mushrooms and more. This is a very healthy choice, but do not be fooled. It was incredibly delicious. For some reason I got two bowls of miso soup and two bowls of rice with sukiyaki, but could only manage one!

Other Options menu

can choose between many different set meals or go for a la carte option. At about 7 Singapore dollars panel (which is about U.S. $ 5.50 or 3.50 British pounds), it would hardly break the bank!

Perhaps as Kimchee, agedashi eggplant, mixed sashimi or salmon stone pot with rice. I had a peek at what people around me were eating and everything looked beautiful from the Japanese and Chinese appetizer recipes such as salad or miso for main dishes that are aromatic, colorful and delicious looking.

My conclusion

On the whole I was greatly impressed with this restaurant in Singapore. There was only one small complaint and that was that I sent back my tea because I was looking for something without sugar, and tea is sweet (they do not offer sugar-free cola, 7Up, or any other alcoholic beverage), but it was replaced with unsweetened one in few minutes.

I do not praise lightly but I am incredibly impressed Watamu Singapore. On their flyer says "casual Japanese restaurant", and that the amount of space up. This is the place to relax and enjoy the typical Japanese food in a friendly atmosphere. The service is amazing (my meal arrived within five minutes, although the restaurant was busy) and the food was perfect.

Most Singapore restaurant menus excludes 10% service charge and 7% tax, but since the bill for the entire meal is $ 15, Singapore is still an incredible bargain, since it is 12 U.S. dollars or British pounds 7! I can not wait to return!
